Q. What kinds/brands of makeup do you use?
A. Too many to mention! For powder blushes and shadows I love Il Makiage.
Before MAC, NARS, Bobbi Brown and just about every other boutique
brand you can think of, there was Ilana Harkavi and her line of 500
colors called Il Makiage. In fact... all of the a fore mentioned companies consulted with her before starting their brands. Yes... there is a world beyond MAC!
Q. Do you have any favorite make up artists?
A. Again, too many to mention. For starters... Wendy Rowe, Mark Carrasquillo, Diane
Kendal, Gucci Westman, and Pat McGrath. I also love Joanna Schlip. She does
amazing celebrity red carpet looks as well as many commercial print ads.
For the longest time I didn't even realize I was admiring her work
until I discovered her website. It was then I noticed many of the ads I had been tearing from magazines were all part of her
portfolio.
Q. What inspires your work?
A. Anything and everything. I'm influenced by fashion, Hollywood, paintings, music, and history. I believe one has the power to evoke a mood or create a statement with makeup. But sometimes my only motivation is hiding long hours with a touch of concealer.
Q. Do you airbrush?
